How Bluegrass Blonde Came About
Jet Hatu was born and raised in Roxboro, North Carolina, the daughter of a professional bluegrass musician. While music was always a constant in her life, her passions leaned toward dancing and sports, where she found her own rhythm and drive. She went on to attend North Carolina Wesleyan University, playing collegiate softball while earning her degree.
Today, Jet has planted her roots in Nashville, North Carolina, where she is a small business owner, community advocate, and proud supporter of the bluegrass culture that helped shape her upbringing. In 2025, while visiting Nashville, she had the idea to create Bluegrass Blonde—a brand inspired by her roots, her story, and her love for the music.
She began sharing her journey on TikTok, quickly connecting with audiences through her favorite bluegrass songs, flatfooting, and signature humor—often featuring her “silent video stars,” her husband and Banjo the Chicken.
Jet’s life is a blend of entrepreneurship, family, and community. She enjoys traveling, working hard, volunteering, coaching softball, and, of course, keeping bluegrass music close to her heart. She lives with her husband, their three children, and two dogs, continuing to build a life rooted in rhythm, resilience, and a little bit of soul.
